NABH-ready HMS: a practical checklist
NABH accreditation is a major undertaking, and your hospital software either helps or hurts. Here’s what “NABH-ready” actually means, the standards your HMS should map to, and how MedCore HMS is built to make accreditation smoother.
NABH-ready vs NABH-certified — the honest distinction
NABH now publishes digital-health standards for hospital information systems and EMRs, and software products can be assessed against them. “NABH-ready” means a system is built to support those standards — audit trails, access control, documentation templates and reporting — so your hospital can pursue accreditation.
That is different from a product holding its own certificate with a registry number. Be precise in your own marketing: claim “NABH-ready / NABH compliance kit” unless you actually hold a certificate. MedCore HMS is NABH-ready and ships a compliance kit; we don’t claim a certificate we don’t hold.
What a NABH-ready HMS should give you
The capabilities assessors and quality teams look for:
- Role-based access control and a complete, tamper-evident audit trail
- Structured clinical documentation — assessments, consent, care plans, discharge summaries
- Patient-safety prompts: allergy and drug-interaction alerts, critical-value escalation
- Quality indicators and reports mapped to the standards
- Data protection aligned to the DPDP Act (encryption of sensitive fields, consent capture)
How MedCore HMS helps
MedCore ships compliance frameworks “pre-baked, not bolted on” — the documentation templates, audit logging, access controls and quality reports are part of the platform, so your team spends less time assembling evidence and more time on care. Book a demo and we’ll walk your quality lead through the relevant standards.
FAQ
Does buying a NABH-ready HMS make our hospital NABH-accredited?
No — accreditation is awarded to your hospital after assessment. A NABH-ready HMS makes the journey faster by providing the documentation, audit trails and reports the standards expect.
